Our Story
The Problem We Kept Seeing
I spent two decades in B2B SaaS ad tech, working with some of the world's largest agencies and advertisers. For 13 years at Sizmek—through their IPO and three acquisitions, ultimately by Amazon—I sat between product and clients, translating complex technical solutions for enterprise needs. I continued this work for four years on Amazon Advertising's Ad Tech team, then led US market expansion for French AI ad tech startup ERMES.ai.
Throughout this journey, I watched the same problems repeat:
Expensive. Agencies paying six figures annually for platforms they barely used.
Complicated. Requiring full-time SMEs just to operate basic features.
Bloated. Paying for hundreds of features when you need five.
Locked in. Switching costs so high that agencies stayed with inadequate solutions.
Too many licenses. The "SaaS tax" kept climbing—yet efficiency didn't.
The mid-market agencies I worked with felt it most acutely. They needed enterprise-level capabilities but couldn't justify enterprise pricing. The tools built for Fortune 500 companies didn't fit their reality, yet nothing else existed in between.
The Turning Point
After leaving ERMES.ai, I spent months researching modern AI solutions. That's when it hit me: SaaS platforms are no longer the only solution.
With today's AI agents and automation technology, companies can own their custom tools—built specifically for their workflows, without the bloat, without the ongoing licenses, without the vendor lock-in. The technology had finally caught up to what agencies actually needed.
Agencies face increasing pressure to do more with less. The old model of stacking SaaS subscriptions doesn't work anymore. But a new model does.
Why Odyssey1.ai
We named the company Odyssey1 because for many businesses, this will be their maiden voyage into a revolutionary new way of working. It's their first journey away from the legacy tech stack toward something better: owned solutions, custom-built, AI-powered, and designed around real workflows—not feature lists.
Odyssey1.ai launched in 2025 to help agencies and advertisers make that journey.

Our Mission
We exist to free agencies and advertisers from expensive SaaS contracts.
For too long, mid-market and SMB agencies have been forced into a false choice: pay enterprise prices for bloated platforms, or go without the tools they need to compete.
We're here to offer a third option: custom AI agents and automations that solve your specific problems—the ones Salesforce, Adobe, ServiceNow, and Oracle charge you $50K-$200K per year to address—at a fraction of the cost.
Whether you've been locked into contracts you can't afford or unable to solve problems due to high incumbent pricing and lack of dev resources, we help you break free and build what you actually need.

Our Vision
Making enterprise-level automation accessible to every agency.
Agencies own their technology, not rent it indefinitely
Solutions are built around workflows, not feature bloat
Mid-market companies have the same automation capabilities as enterprises
The "SaaS tax" is optional, not inevitable
Every agency should have access to AI-powered automation without enterprise price tags. That's the industry we're building.
In five years, we envision a world where mid-market agencies don't automatically default to enterprise SaaS when they need to solve a workflow problem. Instead, they ask: "Should we build this custom, or buy off-the-shelf?" We're building toward a future where:

Our Approach
Built by agency operators, for agency operators.
Most automation agencies come from a tech background and try to learn marketing. We come from the opposite direction—20 years in marketing and ad tech, now applying AI and automation to the problems we've lived.
We know what agencies actually need because we've been in the rooms, seen the workflows, felt the pain points. We've watched agencies pay for tools they don't use and struggle with platforms that don't fit their reality.
Our philosophy is simple: Most agencies don't need more SaaS licenses. They need smarter workflows and owned solutions focused on the features they actually need, not bloat.
That's why we offer both pre-built automations (ready in 48 hours) and custom builds (for unique workflows). You choose what fits—no forcing square pegs into round holes.
We build with marketing agency workflows in mind because we've lived it. And we price transparently because we remember what it's like to get that surprise renewal notice.

Eric brings over 20 years of B2B SaaS ad tech experience to Odyssey1.ai, with a career spent translating complex technical solutions into practical tools for the world's largest agencies and advertisers.
13 years at Sizmek, working through the company's successful IPO and three subsequent acquisitions (ultimately by Amazon Ads). Held multiple roles bridging product and client needs, developing deep expertise in enterprise ad tech demands.
4 years at Amazon Advertising, serving as Product Specialist in go-to-market roles, building subject matter expertise to translate client requirements into technical solutions.
Led US market expansion for ERMES.ai, a French ad tech startup focused on simplifying advertising technology with AI solutions.
Eric's unique background—sitting between product teams and clients for two decades—gives him an insider's view of both what agencies need and how technology can deliver it. He's seen firsthand where enterprise SaaS fails mid-market agencies, and he founded Odyssey1.ai to offer a better alternative.
Beyond Work: Based in Los Angeles, Eric has been DJing techno off and on since the late '90s. He lives with his wife and two preteen boys, and the family owns a vacation property in Uluwatu, Bali (currently managed as a short-term rental—built with Amazon stock, naturally).
